Week 10 Incentive; Month Update

 Morning everyone, how's it going?

Wow, this month flew by really quick it seems. Even faster than the last few months.

Well, first off I'm gonna go over what's been happening this month then we'll talk about what's on the Incentive this week.

So far, been very busy with work and having to deal with the stress of many people going on about the situation. Granted none of us like the idea of having to wear masks on a daily bases. And it's not fully mandatory for our customers to have to wear them. We made sure that there are signs up stating that we require people to wear to them, but we can't force people to. And already there's trouble brewing cause of this.

I was re-promoted at work to be the Assistant Manager after almost 9 months of destressing and getting myself back in order after the incident last year that had me overly stressed. I received this news just before my birthday. So, a happy birthday to me from my work we could say. *laughs*

But, seriously, since then I've been overly busy helping my boss with a lot of extras set-up and organizing. Plus, learning new things daily for my position. This past week, I had to prove myself to her for she had left for a whole week on vacation. So everyone was looking up to me when they had issues and I will admit that I did push them a little trying to get as much done up as we could to be ready when the boss returned from vacation.

I had started a challenge this month of doing wall squats, but sadly I didn't get to finish it for I've been busy and couldn't keep track. So, this coming up month (September), I'm thinking of a different challenge that I have done in the past before trying the wall sitting challenge again, which might be reserve for either October or November. But, I'll go into more detail about that challenge on the first (which is tomorrow).

Now, for this week's Incentive. we have covered a lot of ground so far, I believe, and always look to the benefits of each as we continue to progress. If we keep making these incentives habitable daily, we learn that our lives can be better in the long run.

Doing stretches for 20 minutes, 3 times a week is this week's incentive. By doing this it helps with your flexibility, improves posture, prevents injuries especially at work or doing workouts, even post-workout it's wise to stretch so that your body doesn't stiffen or feel sore afterward.

I wish everyone a good day and be safe and healthy.

Sorry that this one is late, but was overly busy with work that I almost have forgotten about this post.

  3. Stay Active Daily
  4. Food Journal
  5. Be Optimistic

Week 8 Incentive; My 40th!

Hey Everyone! Sorry that I'm late but here I am with week number 8 to the incentives we're working on.

How many of you are following or taking these steps to better your life?

For this week we are looking at having 4 to 6 servings of vegetables. This is good for me, cause I have to admit, I am guilty of not eating a lot of veggies in my diet.

*****

This past weekend, I just celebrated my 40th Birthday. Can you believe that, me 40?

It was a good small gathering for breakfast that my mom had planned at a new restaurant in town.

We had a breakfast casserole which many took a lot home with them. As well as a homemade marble cake.

And the sneak (my mother) presented a large bag with 40 small gifts inside (which I will post later on).

After that, we ended up going to a belated 70th party for my Uncle and an early 38th for my cousin (his daughter). Just stayed long enough for luncheon and gift opening. It was a long day for everyone.

Week 7 Incentive; Day 9 of Wall Sit Challenge; New Look

Evening Everyone! How's your August is going?

Well, this is week 7 in our 52-week incentives. Here's a review on what we have up to date:

  1. Stay Hydrated
  2. Plenty of Sleep
  3. Stay Active Daily
  4. Food Journal
  5. Be Optimistic
  6. Take a Multivitamin
Remember, for any lifestyle changes, do talk with your primary doctor, health coaches, dieticians, and councilors.
This week, the incentive is to keep all dirt and allergens out of the home. The change for this is suggested to keep your shoes at the door and create a transition space to minimize unwanted outdoor pollutants within the home.
A shoe rack by the doorway works well and just have spare slippers close by or even those fuzzy sleeper socks. This cuts a lot of dirt tracks within the home down.

Plus, today is also Day 9 of my wall sitting challenge for those who are doing it with me. We're up to one minute. Can you feel it within your thighs, hips, and abs? I know that I am, and I'm not as shakey as I was when I first started this on August 2nd.

*******

Well, the cats gonna get out of the bag, or in my case, the fox.
Before Look
I have a birthday coming up and I decided to go out and pamper myself. So, I decided its time to get my hair done after a year and a half since my last salon visit.
I went to the Smartstyle in Walmart and spent almost 4 hours having my hair done in the style I love. And the girl did a wonderful job with it.
After Look
I will admit, I was like 5 minutes late for work but it was worth it, plus, I had already messaged my boss to let her know that I was gonna be late and she appreciated the heads up.
My charming husband loves it but was upset that it took all day and that we didn't get the chance to spend it together before I had to be at work.

I hope that this week is a good one for all. Keep cool, stay hydrated, safe and healthy.
Take care, my friends.

Week 6 Incentive; August Wall Sit Challenge

Hey Everyone!!!
OMG! IT'S August!!
Can you believe it? The year is almost over as we enter the eighth month.

So, week six of our incentives is stepping more into the health field. So, I am reminding all to talk with your primary Doctors when it does come to your health and lifestyle changes.

So far, we have gone through 5 weeks worth of incentives to help improve our lives.
  • Stay Hydrated
  • Plenty of Rest
  • Stay Active Daily
  • Keep Food Journal
  • Be Optimistic
This week, it's to take daily multivitamins.
Now, is it good to take any vitamins daily. Well according to today.com:
"There actually can be too much of a good thing, and anything in excess — whether vitamins, supplements or food — can cause serious problems. In terms of vitamins, some are fat-soluble, meaning they are stored in the liver, and you don't need them every day, while others are water-soluble, and need to be replenished."

But again, confirm things with your Doctor and ask questions of the benefits that they may have for your health.

Well, we went through two different challenges so far this summer. In June, it was the squat challenge. July, we had 30+ miles walking (1-Mile plus daily).
This month (August), I'm thinking of the wall sit challenge.

'Wall sitting primarily builds isometric strength and endurance in the glutes, calves, quadriceps, hamstrings, and adductor muscles. This is also good for people who do sports." Stated Wikipedia about wall sitting.
So, starting today until the end of the month, I will be posting how long to do the wall sitting daily. Just let me know if you are apart of the challenge so that I can do a personal shout out at the end of the month.
